Eating my way through Napa Valley

I woke up this morning, there was no organic breakfast tea waiting for me outside my bedroom, no gourmet breakfast brought to me while sitting outside gazing at the sun coming up over the vineyards, I was no longer at the Chateau De Vie in Napa Valley... How depressing! But how lucky we were to spend such a beautiful weekend in such a beautiful place.

Let me start by saying if you are ever in Napa Valley , you HAVE to stay at Chateau De Vie in Calistoga, it is thee most amazing bed and breakfast ran by the two sweetest guys (Peter & Phillip) they literally think of everything! Sunscreen/bug spray on the patio, bowl of hershey kisses in the living room, snacks and water bottles in our room, brown towels for makeup removal, free flowing wine, comfy robes and flip-flops in our room, they thought of everything.

Napa is definitely a foodies paradise.  Our first night we went to Tra Vigne in St. Helena, beautiful restaurant! We had an amazing appetizer called Mozzarella "al minuto" which is hand made mozzarella made to order, they even pull it at the table and it goes right on top of grilled country style bruschetta, so good!

The next night we went to the Calistoga Inn. This was my favorite restaurant atmosphere wise but the food was a little bit of a let down. I ordered the Steak Frites. The fries had garlic and cheese on them so they were a winner but the steak was just a huge thick chunk of meat.. way too much for me. The restaurant was beautiful though regardless of the subpar meal, they had a ginormous patio with beautiful plants and pretty lights, they even had a live acoustic guitar player.

I'd have to say my favorite meal was our Saturday lunch, we stopped at the most amazing grocery store in St. Helena called the Sunshine Market Grocery (a must stop!) and picked up some pasta salad, broccoli salad and blue cheese stuffed olives (yum!) we also had a french loaf, cheese and salami. We laid out by the pool at Chateau De Vie and snacked while chatting with some of the other guests. I wish I had a picture of our amazing lunch but we scarfed it down so heres a picture of the pool instead!

Every morning they had coffee and tea waiting for us outside our room so we would grab a cup and go for a walk through their vineyards.

Our last food adventure was in the city of Napa. Our plan was to stop at the Oxbow Public Market to grab some lunch but after walking around for a bit we decided we weren't too impressed and decided to go elsewhere. Which landed us at BurgerFi. Holy. Cow. this was good, real good. I'm not a fast food person at all but I was impressed. I got the brisket burger, onion rings with secret sauce for dipping and a red velvet milkshake (best shake ever)
